I think one of the greatest tragedies would be to spend your whole life successfully becoming someone you were never meant to be. For a long time, I thought changing myself was growth. More polished. More acceptable. More lovable. Read the room. Fit in. If enough people approved of me, maybe I’d know I was okay. The problem was… I got better at fitting in but the further I got from my authentic self, the less joyful my life became. I laughed less. I became anxious. My relationships felt less fulfilling. I stopped trusting myself. From the outside, my life looked wonderful. Inside, I was becoming less and less ME. Self-abandonment has a HUGE cost. When we’re constantly asking Am I enough? Do they like me? Do I belong? we’re not fully living. We’re watching ourselves live. I have this one wild, miraculous life, and I believe I’m connected to something infinitely greater—what I call God. So what if my job isn’t to shrink my life into what others might approve of? What if instead I listen? Surrender. Trust my intuition. Follow what brings me alive. Love deeply. Laugh loudly. Wear the ridiculous bow. And y’all, that scares the absolute shit out of me. Approval comes with instructions. Authenticity doesn’t. But the cost of abandoning myself has become greater than the risk of being seen. I am no longer willing to sacrifice my joy to earn my worthiness. Getting dressed has become one place I practice. Every morning: What feels good? What lights me up? What feels like ME? Pair pearls with combat boots. Wear the enormous bow. Or the simple black sweater. Every time we listen to ourselves, we build self-trust. Maybe that’s the real work: bravely inhabiting the life that’s already ours. Because when we stop editing ourselves, our relationships get more real, our creativity gets bigger, our joy gets louder, and our lives feel like our own. That’s why I created The You Reveal—to help women discover what makes them feel alive and courageously express it. Maybe clothes won’t change your life. But learning to trust the woman wearing them? I think that just might. 💗 THE YOU REVEAL | Dressing From the Inside Out #authenticity #courageovercomfort #styleinfluencer
